Director & Therapist
Yoon, Julia Young (+13 years experience)
"I was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, and lived in Michigan for 10 years, which broadened my cultural perspective. Raising three children has been my greatest source of learning and growth. My studies in counseling psychology have equipped me with skills to nurture healthier relationships and understand others deeply. I believe challenges can be transformed into wisdom and resources, empowering me as a counseling therapist. Understanding that clients come in with various difficulties, I tailor my focus to meet their unique needs."
My approach celebrates diversity, helping clients explore their flexibility and internal resources in a trusting environment. I foster empathetic connections and harmonious communication using an integrative treatment approach, drawing from CBT, DBT, Gestalt Therapy, and person-centered therapy. My current interests in psychology are stress management and self-compassion, and I am dedicated to helping my clients achieve personal growth and resilience in these areas."

Administrate Assistent
Cho, Isabel
"Contributing to the operations at Light In-U and being part of the team has been an incredibly valuable and rewarding experience. I served as the assistant manager from 2021 to 2022 before moving overseas to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences Today, I continue to assist with various administrative tasks and marketing endeavors remotely as a volunteer.
Currently, I work in the Bay Area as a senior service aide at a municipal community senior center, where I assist elderly community members in navigating mental health and nutrition-related resources. I’m also involved in volunteer initiatives at a local hospital, food pantry, and meal delivery services for seniors aiming to give back to the community through medical and nutritional support.
My long-term goal is to become a physician assistant who integrates nutrition and mental health into a more holistic approach to patient care. Working with Light In-U has deepened my understanding of the vital role mental health plays in overall wellbeing, shaping the kind of healthcare provider I aspire to be in order to improve patient outcomes in the future."
