"I’m thrilled to be part of the Light In-U team as a volunteer intern, where I get to channel my creativity into managing our social media, and website. designing and editing content that connects with people and spreads mental health awareness is something I’m incredibly passionate about.
In addition to my role here, I’m pursuing a master’s degree in clinical psychology in South Africa, with the goal of becoming a practicing psychologist. My passion for mental health extends across cultures—I love sharing tips and stories that help people feel heard, understood, and supported, no matter their background. This passion for diversity is reflected in my degree in Anthropology, as well as my experiences living and working in Korea and Vietnam.
It’s deeply rewarding to contribute to a space like Light In-U, where cultural diversity is honored and connection is at the heart of what we do."

"Contributing to the operations at Light In-U and being part of the team has been an incredibly valuable and rewarding experience. I served as the assistant manager from 2021 to 2022 before moving overseas to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences Today, I continue to assist with various administrative tasks and marketing endeavors remotely as a volunteer.
Currently, I work in the Bay Area as a senior service aide at a municipal community senior center, where I assist elderly community members in navigating mental health and nutrition-related resources. I’m also involved in volunteer initiatives at a local hospital, food pantry, and meal delivery services for seniors aiming to give back to the community through medical and nutritional support.
My long-term goal is to become a physician assistant who integrates nutrition and mental health into a more holistic approach to patient care. Working with Light In-U has deepened my understanding of the vital role mental health plays in overall wellbeing, shaping the kind of healthcare provider I aspire to be in order to improve patient outcomes in the future."
